Writing Update

I’ve neglected by blog for a while now. I haven’t written a whole lot of words in a while because of either pain or stress. 😦 But after watching General Conference (a church broadcast) this weekend where I took notes, I realized my novel isn’t going to write itself just because I ‘think’ about my characters.

I’m not ready to edit The Enchanted Locket yet; I need to write a rough draft and be creative again. Every Monday morning I will update my progress and a word count so my writing becomes a habit again. Especially with the interesting changes I’ve made to my protagonist, Sam, in my young adult time travel novel: Time Control: Deception.

So, I’m off to writing now. I hope to report a significant word count next Monday. Have a wonderful week!

  1. Good luck with your writing goals. I’m trying to sort out ideas for a PB this morning/now afternoon and then looking at creating a submission calendar. I have scraps of paper for submission ideas. I need to put them on a real calendar,so I don’t miss them. Good luck. And, I hope your son feels better.

  2. I am with you on the “haven’t kept up with the blog for a while” scene. Been working on a new w.i.p. that just doesn’t seem to be going anywhere, so I am going back to daily writing. This month I am sketching out the outline for my NaNoWriMo novel.
Best of luck on the new rough draft!

  3. Hi, D. J.! I think a lot of writers are taking a break from blogging to write their novels. I haven’t written much in my rough draft, but changed and added to my Enchanted Locket novel.
Hope your NaNoWriMo outline goes well!
